Women’s History Month 2025: Meet Heba Hafi

At Avangrid, equal opportunity in the workplace matters to us. During Women’s History Month, we honor women’s contributions to our company and our history, culture, and society.  Meet Heba Hafi, Customer Programs & Products Manager at United Illuminating in Connecticut.

Can you tell us about your career journey and what inspired you to pursue your current field?

I have a BS in International Business and received an Excellence Award in International Business from Central Connecticut State University. I also have a masters in international studies from CCSU. I had the honor to Join Avangrid in 2022 as an energy specialist with in residential renewable energy (solar projects team) and become a subject matter expert even though I had worked in health insurance industries and companies for many years. Totally different industries.

Now, I am providing support to the Conservation and Load Management (C&LM) team as a Customer Programs & Products Manager and business liaison in contracting, purchasing, invoicing, record retention management and more. I am proud to support the C&LM team regarding energy efficiency to provide our customers with the best rates and services and be part of this achievement. My native/first language is Arabic.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry today?

Work on developing yourself and do not let anything stop you from pursuing your dream.

Which women in your life have served as important mentors or role models, and what did you learn from them?

All women are my role models. We are stronger than we think. We are changing the world’s vision by proving that nothing is impossible and we can be in all industries supporting others.

What strategies do you use to maintain a healthy work-life balance, especially with the demands of a professional career?

Taking care of my health is a priority to be able to take care of my career and family. Stay healthy and stress free. Life is short, better enjoy it and get the best out of it .

What does Women’s History Month mean to you personally?

It’s a great way to spotlight and appreciate all the strong independent women all over the world. There are lot of them out there.
