Avangrid is privileged to partner with thousands of landowners from across the country. They all have unique stories to tell. Here is a message from Dave Whitmore, a landowner on multiple Avangrid projects in Washington state.
Hello, my name is Dave Whitmore. Our farm is located in eastern Klickitat County in Washington State. Before wind turbines were placed on our property (Juniper Canyon wind project), we were and still are enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Program. We had another opportunity with Avangrid to place another parcel of approximately 800 acres in their Lund Hill solar project. That parcel was used for farming and grazing.
By partnering with Avangrid, it has given my family more financial freedom to pursue my parents’ dream of continuing and expanding their Whoop-N-Holler Museum. Not only has Avangrid helped our family financially, but they have helped our community such as our school and a new fire hall with updated equipment.
The employees from our nearby Avangrid projects (Juniper Canyon wind project, Big Horn wind project, and Lund Hill solar project) have always been great to work with whenever we’ve had questions on operations. We are very thankful such a reputable company like Avangrid has come to our county.
