Excerpts from a conversation with Jason Dieterich, a landowner on Avangrid’s True North Solar project in Falls County, Texas.
What is it like working with Avangrid?
“Avangrid altogether was a great company to deal with. It is great when you have someone locally from the state coming to talk to you and telling you the plans. I don’t know what it is about Texas, but you can really trust the people that are here, and you can really trust when you have someone local working with you. I felt the company was up front and honest like they said it would be. I really appreciate that. It meant a lot to my family.”
What about the people working here?
“The guys that are here working the project now are great. They are hands on. They are very open. We can talk to them any time, given them a call, and they’ll do their best to answer any questions they get from us. Anything we need, they’re going to talk to us about it. They’re our neighbors now. Anything they need, we’re here for them.”
What made this a good financial decision?
“The income is tremendous. We covered up some good farmland, but when we look at the future of our family – the future of my kids and grandkids – that’s what we really had to look into, was our future. It wasn’t a hard decision for us to make because of the financial benefits that it provided for my family. That’s the number one thing I care about, my kids and grandkids.”
