Jeff Riley is a regional lease portfolio manager on Avangrid’s land management team. He has been with Avangrid for over three years. Get to know Jeff!
Q: What do you do as a lease portfolio manager? Which region(s) do you cover?
Jeff: “As a Lease Portfolio Manager, I am the first point of contact for our landowners throughout the life of our Solar and Wind projects. I assist landowners with inquiries involving the land contracts, lease payments, ownership transfers, project status and property taxes. Additionally, I oversee landowner relations in conjunction with our Development, Construction, and Operations teams. I am responsible for the Eastern Region of the United States. This region includes New England, the entire Eastern Seaboard, and extends through the South to Texas.”
Q: How do you help landowners work effectively with Avangrid?
Jeff: “Our onshore power generation business relies on the fundamental relationship between landowners and our project teams. Communication is a key requirement of this relationship. My position serves as a vital link between our landowners and our complex organization. I always tell our landowners to call me because, ‘If I cannot immediately help you, I will inquire with someone who can.’ I strive to ensure a communicative relationship with our landowners.”
Q: What’s the best part about your job?
Jeff: “The best part about my job is the onsite project events I regularly attend. I sincerely enjoy meeting our landowners in person and receiving direct feedback. I believe these personal interactions are important in maintaining a strong relationship between the landowners and our organization.”
Q: How can landowners stay up to date on what’s happening with their property?
Jeff: “I recommend landowners reach out to me directly for an immediate update on the happenings involving their property. I am available by email and phone during regular business hours.”
